Hello Artfans! Just finished the cover for the sword & sorcery novel I’m writing. This was so much fun to do, but I admit I got frustrated after a while. I hope it looks alright. I got some good advice from cool people on Facebook. I am pleased with the restraint I showed with the background figures. I can become detail obsessed. What do you think?
This was done with Painter 17, btw! Awesome program!
Hello, all! I wanted to share the very beginning, a loose sketch, (detail) for what I think will be the cover painting for this sword and sorcery book I’m working on. I have a co-writer by the way.
I plan to continue on with the oils in my new painter 17. I am finding it a breeze to use, and it’s fast! Therefore, inspiration! If I can ever find someone or something that can keep up with my brain…then you people will really see some art! Ha ha! Anyway, hope you like this, and that you have a good day! More soon! Buy meh book!
Hi guys! I wanted to share my first painting done with my new Painter 17!! I’m having so much fun with the brushes, and the speed is out of this world. Feeling very inspired today. I adore corgis, they’re such fat lil derps. I’ve been getting a lot of great feedback on the book, and it’s still selling, sitting nicely in the bestsellers on Kindle horror! I have a lot to be thankful for today. The sun is shining, to top it all off.
Here’s a small detail of an illustration I did today. It’s hard to stay indoors, since it is truly Spring here in the mountains. I think my kitty’s expression captured how I felt today, working indoors. But my work day is done, and I’m off to relax.
My book is doing well today! I hope this one is at least as successful!
This is just a portion of the first illustration I did today for a book I’ve written. I’m determined, and since I released the other book, I’ve gained the confidence to do this one. I know I’m weird. I write horror, but I also write lots of other things, too. I used to work in a library, in the children’s department, and truly, some of my fondest memories are reading to all the kids. So now at last, I’m finally getting around to “Kitty’s Neighborhood”.
The art is created with chalk and watercolor in Corel Painter. I don’t know what I’d do without a Mac and Painter, lol. Well, yes, I do. I’d keep right on painting. But this way is so much fun, and I don’t have to worry about drinking paint water by mistake. So, professional perquisite, right there.
I’m also writing along on a new story collection and a sword and sorcery adventure. But now, I am going to bed…
Here is a little progress picture for you. Today I’m designing the cover for my own upcoming anthology. If I keep up this pace, I think the release will be around March 1, 2017. Hope you like what you see here! The title of the book is “One Past Midnight: 13 Terrors” by Kathy Ferrell. I’ll be releasing on Amazon Kindle, hope you will check it out!
